This is my blog. (obviously) - An Intro.
I've never blogged before. I've always thought of it as kind of self-absorbed to write out and describe my life to whatever innocent reader happened to stumble upon my blog page. Quite frankly, few people's lives are really that exciting to read about, mine included, and I don't want to be accountable for someone else's wasted time.
Having said that, this blog (now and future posts) is NOT going to be a droll diary, listing all of the unremarkable events of my life (the internet has enough of those anyway), a place to talk about my kitty every chance I get (his name is Saint Jimmy), or a page that I use to garner pity or attention (posting constant pictures of myself or bitching about how life's just SOOOO hard). Mainly, this will be a blog for, and about, ME. The real me.
What's that even mean? I define "me" as the amalgamation of thoughts and decisions that make up my life. I find it emotionally and mentally cleansing to put these thoughts on paper. I also like to record decisions, so that I can look back and see what became of them. Anyway, yeah, that's my justification for writing this blog. It's for me, and perhaps, through it, I'll meet some interesting people that either share or want to debate my random ideas, thoughts, observations, and decisions. I'm always up for debate, and love being proven wrong. I'm open minded. (I like learning. We learn, mostly, by being shown something new, that we had never before considered, or by being proven wrong about something that we had considered,)
Anyway. I don't suppose this uninteresting bit of an intro will be read by anybody, at least not all the way through... Like I said, this is for me. I guess you can call it a mission statement for all future posts. Here are the points:
1. I will not abuse the time of the reader by bitching about generally uninteresting events in my life
2. I will not assault the eyes of the reader with excessive pictures of me or St. Jimmy
3. I will stick to writing about my random thoughts, ideas, and observations, or about important life decisions.
4. This blog is, first and foremost, for me. I refuse to post things just to "see what people will say", or to try and get a response. I want to keep this real.
5. Everything I write will be completely open for friendly debate
Get it? Got it? Good. Now, Let's do this shit. Blog post #1 coming this weekend.
