Slept in, that was good. Kidney Dr, was great and not so. He said I needed to get some weight back off. Then I had a brainstorm at Walmart - get a bicycle and lose weight enjoying the nice summer weather. Got home, pumped up tires, adjusted seat and looked it over before it's maiden ride. Everything looked good so I climbed aboard and down the driveway I rolled. Got to the street and started to pedal. Well I tried to anyway but it was stuck between gears. Ran out of forward momentum as I tried to turnaround, hit the edge of th driveway with a bump and decided that wasn't the way to go. Now off balance, over I went sideways. After a few steps trying very hard to stay on my feet, plowed into the road. Put my arm in front of my face fortunately in time to save damage there but broke the arm in what I thought was 3 places. Off to the ER. Left 4 hours later after CT scan of head, 2 stays, splint on broken arm (only 1 place) and road rash on my knee. Taking the bike back tomorrow and seeing the Orthopedic Dr next week for consultation and hopefully just a cast.
5 years old granddaughter says Papa you need to learn how to ride a bike. Thanks darling. She still has training wheels.
