Well, it's been a fun weekend... Finally got my arse down to the Ship on Friday with most excellent NY visitor Sensuality, where we got to meet some of the SGUK London Massive... jolly nice people all of you!
In fact the only blip on the whole evening was on the way home, when I stopped for a slash at Charing Cross. More information than you needed? I do apologise... but it's not every time that you get started just too late to notice that the (burly) man at the next trough is clearly not actually shaking the drips off.
Saturday's gig was a winner, the crowd was rockin' and underwear was thrown. Unfortunately the pants came from my work colleague Irish John, so I can only be thankful that my bass player took the hit for me... That guy's a goddam hero!

But yes, anime, let me see
Recommendations based on you saying your current favourite is Ninja Scroll:
Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X: Known as various silly things in different parts of the world. Only watched a few episode myself, but I've ehard many good things about it, and it seems perfectly acceptable samurai shennanigans. Lots and lots of episodes to DL, couldn't tell you where to start.
Berserk: Rather violent medieval fantasy romp. Be aware that the first episode doesn't realy set the tone for the whole series. A single series of 26 episodes.
Recommendations I'll make anyway:
Cowboy Bebop: Incredibly slick and stylish sci-fi romp with an amazing soundtrack. 1 series of 26 episodes and a movie, get them all and watch them repeatedly.
Trigun: Fun genre-bending sci-fi/steampunk/western anime with some excellent character design. Some might say it starts off a little slow, but definitly picks up the pace and intensity a little way in. 1 series of 26 episodes.
Read or Die: Fun little mini-series of 3 episodes with a slightly kitsch, 60's chic meets steampunk kind of feel to it. I love the design on this one.
I was invited to the embassy of course, being one of those upstanding citizens of course. hehe
