A. Smoking bans should be repealed from places of business where smoking is not allowed.
B. Many smoking bans were enacted on the basis of a report put out by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) in 1993 which stated that roughly 3,000 lung cancer deaths occur a year among non-smokers, and attributed those deaths to second hand smoke in the United States. This report was later discredited in 1998 when a United States Federal Court stated the EPA demonstrated no link between second hand smoke and cancer; furthermore, the court went on to say that the EPA intentionally ignored data that hindered their predetermined conclusion.
C. If laws are made on the basis of false reports, and legislation of human behavior becomes widely accepted as protection there will be no freedoms, no liberty in a country that was founded on the dream of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Repealing the smoke bans which were established on false pretenses is the first step in the pursuit of liberty and true justice.
D. Fear was the main tactic for legislating smoke bans across the United States, accompanied by compromised studies put out by the EPA. With a Federal Court discrediting the very claims that were used to enact such bans, lobbying for legislature to repeal the bans shouldnt be difficult. Spreading public awareness of the facts on second hand smoke would be the initial and most vital of steps in this process.
this is just the outline.... probably at about 2am i'll have the actual essay done... this is america for christ's sake i should be able to kill myself in a public arena any day of the week and not have anyone say a god damned word about it... but seriously folks, smoking is bad, drinking is bad... but fuck the fucks that say i can't do it in McDonald's... shit, if that's the case then fat fucks shouldn't be able to eat infront of me because it makes me want to vomit....
