ok, so.
kaiser chiefs on 4/20 was a lot of fun. got pretty high, the chiefs played a good show, and fun was had by all involved.
in other news, i JUST got press passes to bright eyes' show tonight at the riviera. should be a good time. who would turn down FREE live music? not i. and i like having my friends who go to the shows with me read my reviews in the paper and tell me if i was accurate or not. since i don't have a car, though, my friend craigleg's gonna do the driving...to pay him back, though, i gotta help him put up new bulletin boards and posters in his classroom. he's a teacher. the world is crazy.
in other other news, i turn 24 on friday. is this a big deal? should i be making a fuss about this? i don't think so. my girlfriend wants to buy me a lot of stuff (i don't really need it). friends want to throw me a party (i don't really want to go to it). family wants to get me a big ice cream cake (i'd eat all of it).
seriously, though...after you turn 21...are there any other GOOD birthdays, birthdays you're looking forward to? sure, when you're little, every birthday's sweet. and when you're 15, you can't wait to turn 16. and then you can't wait to turn 18. then you can't wait to turn 21. but after that, you're pretty much just counting the days till you die.
let's not even talk about post-30 birthdays. my brother's 31, and he acts as though he's a dirty old fuck (which he is, but that's neither here nor there) on his way to his deathbed.
at times like these, i always like to turn to the past masters for guidance. let's take a few bits of wisdom from the late, great kurt vonnegut, jr., to honor his passing in a meager, but not unappreciative, manner:
"I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different."
"I want to stand as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all the kinds of things you can't see from the center."
"Still and all, why bother? Here's my answer. Many people need desperately to receive this message: 'I feel and think much as you do, care about many of the things you care about, although most people do not care about them. You are not alone.'"
indeed. enjoy your day.

Love is awesome when you are in it and its fun. Love sucks when you are in it and broken up. anyways, about the wang pic, I erased it as soon as i realized it automatically posted to my pictures page. Oh yeah, don't worry about turning 24, its 25 that is the first hard one.
