Can somebody please explain to me why I have to be active in blogging and responding to the stories posted on this site to join a local SG forum. I am on this site daily but don't always have the time to talk about my boring ass day and I don't always feel the need to comment on certain stories... So why shouldn't I be able to join this forum... I'm a paying menber for over a year now. Can anyone clue me in????

it an unwritten rule that goes back to when there were only a few hundred "active" members on the whole of SG.
1. it's to keep out lurkers.
2. because private stuff (like home addresses and where you work or hang out) gets posted and we try our best to keep out people who may have evil intentions.
3. because those groups are mainly for those who hang out and meet up in real life. see #2.
4. because owners of regional groups can set whatever rules they like as far as that group's membership policy.
however, your best bet is to write to the owner of the group, who could then answer your question (usually the effort to make contact will get you admitted by itself)... where as posting it on your journal ('blog" if you are into that word)just makes you look like a whiner, because the chances of you getting the real answer are slim... or at the very least, unlikely. as each group owner has different restrictions/requirements.
posting comments in and if itself is not the point. it's the simple fact that it shows that you DO actually want to interact with others and not just lurk.
it's like those bars that say "private - members only". when, if fact, it's just to scare away the douche bags. if you actually ring the buzzer, they will let you in. you don't "really" have to be a member, you simply have to KNOW that you don't really have to be a member, lol.
dumb? sure.
... but weeding our creepy fuckers on a porn site is far from an exact science.
a simple message to the owner saying... "i live in ______, but am not into posting. can i get in so i can meet people in my area"... is usually all it takes.
also, having only hot chicks as friends and such doesn't help. it looks like that's all you care about. the chicks in the l;ocal groups are more sensitive to creepiness than out in the public sections.
people having a bit of a clue as to who you are and what you are about is the main intention of the rule.
like the groups you belong to... do you mean to say that your only interest is IBTs? what about racing, tattoos, 24, guns, hippeis, playstation, macs, kids, marriage, bondage, etc...
all we know about you from the year you have been here is you like IBTs, 3 hot chicks, and complaining, lol.
