yuck.. computer problems.. my IE doesn't like this site anymore.. so I'm canceling my account until I get everything working properly again...

maybe not such a bad thing... I spend way too much time online and have a lot of other things I should be working on... paintings, historical costuming that needs to be done soon, and several half finished stained-glass and metal projects.. and...

wow... the new way they have members pics organized looks really good... going to have to reorganize things into separate folders.. and upload more.

-----------incase you were wondering, my fat ass is not blocking the light at the end of the tunnel, because the end of the tunnel is clogged with sticks, old leaves, mud, and a hoard of rats. hmmm.. I've had that pic...

bleah feel like I've been working all day on a day off... used to think it'd be cool to get paid to do things I enjoy but it kinda sucks when your hobbies sort of become your job. prolly does not help that I've been listening to the same CD for the last seven hours

think i need to go for a walk.

mmmm fresh...

ah today was fun... work work work. work went by fast today. then I got home and found someone had mailed me a CDR with a laibach interview on it... interesting.. guy asking the questions was speaking mostly in dutch, ivan or fras was answering in very broken english.. plus some remixes that I hadn't heard.

then I decided it was time to cut my...

eeek.. note to self: don't play with chainmail and metal juggling things in room where there are stained-glass projects and half finished paintings laying around.

guess I should feel lucky today... going to go play in traffic.

bleah wish I could get out of this frozen wasteland, but no money for traveling and nowhere to go really... I feel trapped here cause it's too cold to take off on my bike or kayak.. that's what I usually do when I feel like this..

but the river is frozen over anyways, so no kayaking... from the river near my house it takes about...

okay, through recent tribulations I have stumbled across the cure for the common cold...

this will only work if you do not live anywhere NYC... maybe a similar situation in some large city you are unfamiliar with will work.. so here's how it starts...

you have to be as unfamiliar as possible with these areas, and with large cities in general... so, start by getting...

This has nothing to do with your journal, but I was looking at the pics in the crafty group and I was wondering if you had a website or something where you sold your artwork? If this has been asked by others and I'm out of the loop, I'm sorry. Your stuff is just fucking awesome!

yay... I picked up a paintbrush again for the first time in eight years.. last time I painted anything was in a drawing & painting class in highschool and I wasn't happy with anything I did back then..

I did an acrylic painting of the scene in the stained glass pattern I mentioned in my last entry. it's to the point now where it could...

the torso is plaster too. the xt racing sign is aluminum though... i don't have a good picture of that up yet though. aluminum.. i use 1/8"... whatever gauge that is 11ga or something. you have to keep annealing it to get it to move without cracking, and it work hardens quickly... but it'll never rust. takes different tool and a bit of getting used to. thickness depends on the job... in some places you need thick stuff. silicon bronze is nice too, more similar to aluminum than steel. i used to work a lot in hammered steel... but if you want to make something big... kinda gets to a point where you need two people to move the thing around. the braid ia aluminum too... tapered and rounded three 5/8 solid bars about five feet long, then started braiding with a torch... took about three hours or so. a power hammer helped that one along wink

it's a bit of both. did a body cast, but ended up carving the whole thing, then painted it silver just to be able to see the form better... i used different color plasters, and silver covers everything. i made a mold of it and now i'm finishing the final copy out of graphite imbedded plastic.

meh... I have this pattern I drew a year ago for a stained glass window I want to make... it's sort of a nighttime landscape with some mountains in the background...

never really been happy with my rendering of these mountains so I keep redrawing them... I'd redraw them then set the drawing aside for a few months to decide if I liked the new...

oh crap... today could have been better, but today was better than most of my recent days. ever have some sort of project that you've put a lot of time and work into... well, a couple months at least.. but there's one little thing that has to be done to finish it all up and you've no idea if the only way to do it...

wow, I just noticed that the type of thing that happened today with this project is actually something I listed as one of the things that makes me happy... and I wasn't esposed to any of the things that make me sad.. and I got to play with the oxy/acetylene torch while I was doing the copper work for this project... biggrin biggrin

hmmm... I wonder... if this picture of me crawling through a dirty bricklined tunnel scares people away. wow, I just realized I wore those same pants and shirt to work today! different socks today though, and left the combat boots at home.

what's new today.. not much. I finished drawing up the second draft of a stained glass pattern I started working on almost a...
