For all it's charms, Philadelphia is lacking in a few things...
One of those is the artery clogging beauty of the English/Irish fry-up.
Expat bars & restaurants in NYC all serve oversized platters of fried eggs, baked beans, sausage, bacon, fried mushrooms and tomatoes and.... black and white pudding. (I like them. Shh.)
But here in Philly, it's about as common as running into Walter Cronkite and the Pope having a shot drinking contest at the corner bar.
There's got to be one restaurant here owned by a homesick child of the isles serving this shit up....

I feel your pain. Here in Germany they have none of my favorite foods from Texas. Just lots of bratwurst and Chinese food. Although the fries are good...

German Chinese food is the weirdest thing I've ever had. In Koln & Heidelberg, the big seller at the Chinese takeouts there was "Chinese doner kebab" with sweet and sour chicken wrapped up in pita bread with lettuce and tomato... <shudder>
