Dear Government,

It has recently come to my attention that a small amount of my tax money has gone towards detaining and deporting seventies folk icon Cat Stevens from the country. While it is obvious to all of us that securing America's borders and stopping potential threats from entering the nation is certainly a good thing, many of us are curious about the detention of...

"Sleep! That's where I'm a viking!"

Too much craptasticness in my life right now. Could use a hug and a good cup of coffee frown

1. Three of these statements were made by George W. Bush. Which one was made by Senator Rick Santorum (R-Pa.)?

(a) Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do...

"Da Ali G Show" grew on me like a well-nurtured crack addiction. Not only does a English dude with the quintessentially British Jewish name of Sascha Baron-Cohen do spot on imitations of a suburban London gangsta, an Austrian fashionista and a Kazakhstani television reporter while interviewing celebrities and everyday Americans - but his characters are taken seriously against all odds.

Take Borat the Kazakhstani reporter....

This crazy thing called sleep.... I miss it.

Bought a new living room set yesterday, lots and lots of furniture now sprucing up the house. The best part is that we paid next to nothing for it, which is a beautiful thing.

And otherwise?

It's my day off. 10 hours of watching VH1 Classic in my underwear and getting around to reading books I haven't...

For all it's charms, Philadelphia is lacking in a few things...

One of those is the artery clogging beauty of the English/Irish fry-up.

Expat bars & restaurants in NYC all serve oversized platters of fried eggs, baked beans, sausage, bacon, fried mushrooms and tomatoes and.... black and white pudding. (I like them. Shh.)

But here in Philly, it's about as common as running into Walter...

frown I feel your pain. Here in Germany they have none of my favorite foods from Texas. Just lots of bratwurst and Chinese food. Although the fries are good...
coffee_riot:
German Chinese food is the weirdest thing I've ever had. In Koln & Heidelberg, the big seller at the Chinese takeouts there was "Chinese doner kebab" with sweet and sour chicken wrapped up in pita bread with lettuce and tomato... <shudder>
