Here we are again, ripe and ready for another stream of consciousness blog.
I've been home sick since yesterday. Woke up with wicked vertigo, which if you have never experienced it, imagine you just spent the night drinking and spinning around wildly. Except all you did was get up out of bed. It's not fun, I don't recommend it. I also got strep throat, cuz I guess Im a giant 6 year old, yay me.
I'll try to focus on more good things, since there is plenty of terrible shit I could also be writing about.
If you've seen anything I've posted lately you have probably noticed the same photo of @eydis popping up. Well, that's because that photo was picked up for album art by the band Transylvania Stud. Which is amazing, it is the first time that's happened for me and what makes it more exciting is that Andrew, the man who is the band, loved the photo and the title of it so much he named the EP after it. Which is just unreal to me, to think that a concept I had been working on in my head, brought to life with the help of @eydis, would hit home for someone so much that it would be inspiration for there music is so fucking cool. What makes it even better is that the EP is solid. I really dig it which is great, because it would be a little awkward to sell my first photo to a guy and hate the music he made, haha. So that's probably the biggest personal accomplishment of the year for me.
Looking towards the new year I have a lot I want to accomplish. I am finally moving into my own studio apartment at the end of next week, I am really excited for it. its not going to be a palace, its a little studio in a brownstone in Minneapolis, but it has what I want, a murphy bed, a big claw foot tub and windows in every room. Which is all I need really, I'm very comfortable with having a little space all to myself. With the world feeling like its loosing its fucking mind on a daily basis, the idea of living like a church mouse, with just the things I need sounds delightful.
This also means I will have no excuses. I have a ton of concepts that I want to work on for editorial submissions, along with wanting to shoot some cool cosplay ideas and shoot more for SG, since I feel I've really worked hard to improve my photography since I last submitted a set to SG, hopefully I will be able to find someone who wants to make something cool. And lets not forget film! I really want to do some cool stuff on film, I got myself a new medium format film camera and I cant wait to shoot a dreamy black and white boudoir set on medium format, I think that could be really fun.
I've also been kicking around the idea of starting a documentary project. I got started on it a few months ago and then got distracted with life in general, but the plus of living in the city means I will only be a few minuets away from the places I need to be to make this project work. Which is both exciting and daunting, it means I will have to be an extrovert, which I certainly am not. But I guess if I write it down here for others to see, then I will have to hold myself accountable.
okay, I think that's enough for today.
Have a Happy New Year SG family!
Stay Classy.
