Hi Everybody!!
I thought I would take the time today to do some writing, because its a big day and I feel like chatting! Well, I suppose blogging is more like me opening my window and shouting to the world my one sided conversation. But you know what I am saying!
Big news first!
The day has finally arrived any my new set with the stellar @coventry , Kawaii Desu Ne is finally in member review! I am very proud of this set, it looks like it is off to a great start and I hope the momentum keeps going and people dig it. So please leave it some love, ( I know, really gotta twist your arm to go look at naked beauties.)
On to new developments!
It finally happened, I was let go from my shitty day job, I would say that I am bummed about it, but that would be a lie. I hated that job, the only reason I stayed so long was because I liked the paycheck, but now I am free and enjoying life like I never have before. A few months before they let me go I started working in the print lab at my local camera store, which has been a fantastic experience so far. It is wonderful being excited about going to work and learning new things that I can actually use! The pay is dismal which is the only downside but Im trying my best to make it so they let me work as much as possible.
Since I started shooting on 35mm film the print lab seemed like a great choice for me. Now I know what happens when you drop stuff off to be developed and printed.
Speaking of prints, I made my first big print this week!! Which for me is a big deal, it is one of those things that makes me feel like I really am a legitimate photographer now. I know its not the best photo, but what you see below is the proof!! My first big print!! a lovely 12x18 inch Metallic print of the Minnesota all star Roller girls and the Chicago windy city rollers from last years final bout.
The kicker to the whole thing is I already SOLD the Print!! how awesome is that! I didn't have it printed for more than 10min and I already had it sold. What a wonderful feeling, let me just say.
Now that I am only working one day job, my efforts have been set towards chasing after my photography career, I want to work and I want to do more and more so I am trying to explore all my options and get my name out there, I feel like for the first time in a long time I am using my talents and pushing my potential. I just really want to work.. Which is a good thing since the name of my business is "Workhorse Photography" haha. I feel like getting fired from my job has been a blessing, now it really is Sink or Swim and I am trying my best to just keep swimming.
I want to try and get some things shot and submitted to some online venues like Arsenic magazine, Dark Beauty Magazine, NIF, things like that, and I am also working on doing more studio portraits and head shots. I had a shoot yesterday with my brothers good friend that went really well, my hope is I can take the new stuff, add it to my portfolio and go hound some modeling agencies in town and see if I can get some work that way.
Here are some of the shots from yesterday.
Not too shabby Id say for shooting in my garage! who knew a bed sheet, curtain rod and some kite string and clamps could be so useful!
If you are still reading along this far you are a trooper, Thanks for playing!
Enjoy this picture of @coventry's amazing bum and have a great day!
