Well Hi Everybody!
It has been AGES! I hope you all are well. I have been telling myself that I need to get on here and write a something, and dammit today is the day!
So lets see whats been going on!....Well, the set I shot with @hind came out and has done really well, so THANK YOU to everyone who left some love on that it. I shot a another set with my no. 1 girl @coventry that will be out in 3 long months. I am really excited about this one, I personally feel it is my best work for SG to date. So hopefully everyone else will love it too, because we worked our asses off for what we got and I think it came out great. I also had the pleasure of sitting in while Coventry shot with @CDO which was super cool. He is a great guy, damn efficient and was kind enough to let me sit in and take notes, which I literally did, he even checked to see what I was writing haha. During that shoot I also got to meet @Herem and @Orphan_ who came down from Fargo, ND Which is awesome! I lived in Fargo for 9 years and it was great to meet some really cool people, who I can visit when I go back.
What else you ask yourselves, ever so patiently?
Oh, I dunno how about I started shooting on film a few months ago? That do anything for ya!? I felt I needed to challenge myself and work harder at improving my photography. Which is exactly what shooting on film is doing for me. I started with a little point and shoot, a few weeks later I some how managed two acquire 2 great canon film cameras. Those who are film fans may be interested to know what models, they are the Canon EOS-1 and the Canon A-1. They are both a blast to shoot. The EOS 1's shutter sounds like sex, its intoxicating every time you hit the shutter release. Which makes it hard to not keep taking pictures haha.
I also have been doing a bunch of Band photography, which is a fuckin blast. It is tough as shit and you have to know your gear and what you can and can't get away with in a room that is very dark, but its awesome and it has been a great way to get out of my shell and go see shows!
Just last week presented with the opportunity to be the league photographer for the St. Cloud SCAR Dolls roller derby group. Which is a very exciting opportunity that only happened because their previous league photographer was kind enough to put a good word in for me when he left. Sadly due to my schedule (working two jobs now, three when photography is paying) and the fact that its in st. cloud and I'm in Minneapolis, plus I don't own the gear I would need to do it properly, I had to politely decline. Which is a bummer, but hopefully things will go good for a stretch and I might be able to knock out some of this mind numbing debt I have acquired and then Finally FINALLY be able to upgrade my working photography kit to something that will let me do roller derby bouts on a consistent basis.
Okay. I am starting to bore even myself. So in closing all you lovely's who have read this far. Here is some pictures of some of my recent work for you to (hopefully) enjoy!
