SEX IS PLAY
It's easy to get confused about this because of the serious of procreation and the heaviness of some of the emotional significance we attach to sex.
But, as so many sets here indicate and so many playful exchanges illustrate, when human beings interact, the erotic is sweet playfulness.
Remember when you were a child and maybe you kissed your cousin or the kid next door? You experimented with tickling and back rubs.
Did you somewhere along the line forget that the essence of humans touching humans is play? That penises are kind of funny and absurd? That breasts are so much fun to play with?
That you can do clever and silly things with lips and tongues and ears and feet?
So, yes, but what about making babies? Serious stuff, indeed. So what does that illustrate except that human beings are conceived and made in a spirit of playfulness?
And all this fear of love. Are children afraid to love? Hardly. When you're a kid you can be in love with an insect, a puppy, a cloud, a firefly, a button, a toe. Love is not commitment. Love is free-flowing pleasure and wonder at the interaction of human play. Love is something more too--but at the heart it's that childish attitude of openness to the world.
Take it from an older member--you don't have to fear growing up, you don't have to grow up, you can keep your childlike sense of wonder and play. Don't lose it and don't be ashamed of it. Don't think it's silly. Sometimes you younger folks are so damned SERIOUS. Lighten up.
I'm suddenly very clear about this -- I'm here because I want to play. Not just here on sg, but here in this world. Not that I am frivolous, I can be "responsible," but please don't let erotic energy be swallowed up by institutions and commercialization. It is most radical and potent when it is most playful. Because play is the antithesis of productivity, commerce, and the destruction of the planet.
SELF-MUTILATION
Me: "I don't understand self-mutilation at all."
She (paraphrased): "I'm angry but I don't want to hurt someone else, so I hurt myself."
Perfect explanation. Never clearer. Thank you.

for a "personalized show of affection", you need to wait patiently for Shayne to get her ass in gear and dedicate herself to the purpose OR pay me one million dollars. or buy me a cinnamon bun. that ALWAYS works.
