I have completed a movie trifecta of wonderful films--and it's about time! KINGDOM OF HEAVEN is a bit turgid in parts, and there's way too much slow-mo and spurting blood, but it's still entertaining and worth watching. It's probably getting lukewarm reviews because it's a not-macho-enough war movie. The most heroic act in the film is a surrender. And the hero isn't getting instructions from God; in fact, he's getting silence, so he listens to a humanitarian piece of advice from his father, and decides PEOPLE AREN'T WORTH SACRIFICING FOR RELIGIONS AND HOLY SITES. One thousand years later, too bad other "leaders" haven't figured this out.

I'm amazed at how we make connections online. ..More thoughts on this later.
