I love great supporting actors. They really can make or break a film, or at least make a good one great. In Almost Famous, we hired a guy named Eric Stonestreet to play a hotel desk clerk. He's the fat guy that says "She freaked me out" about William's mom. That little bit got the 2nd biggest laugh in the movie, behind Fairuza hitting the cement wall. That's a great accomplishment for an actor.
Here are three more supporting parts that I think are genius....
1) Bill Paxton as "Chet" in Weird Science
2) Patrick Stewart as "Maitre D' at L'Idiot" in L.A. Story
3) The mother of all...Ted Knight as "Judge Smails" in Caddyshack
What are some you dig?

you are so fucking hot
the supporting actor i can think of now that i really liked was in 'quiz show.' i don't know the actor's name, but he played that guy from texas who in the end said that he wasn't as impressed as everyone else was by someone simply telling the truth.
it's been a while since i've watched it, but that was the best part.
