A theater in town was showing a free screening of A Scanner Darkly tonight. I've never read the novel upon which it's based, and i don't particularly like Keanu Reaves, so I went primarily for the pretty pseudo-animation.
It's one of those movies that I can't really say is good or bad, just...weird. It's definitely worth seeing though, if you're into non-traditional film in any sense of the term...It's all about drugs and government surveillance in the near future, with a surreal twist. It's a little hard to follow and and a little hard to sit and watch, and at least for me, reallyg ets in your head. I still feel paranoid and sort of high after leaving the theater an hour ago.
