So... quick update:
I was going to buy another car this weekend but then my better senses took hold of me and I didn't. The thing about buying cheap cars is that it is always a good idea to have two so that when one breaks you can drive the other car while fixing it. I don't know, I'm just getting this feeling that my Subaru is going to blow up soon. Oh well.
Right now, though, speaking of blowing up, my roommate's kid sounds like he is going to explode. He has been screaming all morning.
This is the reason that I got the big upstairs room...
because my roommate has the rest of the house.
I finally spent some dough, and got usb 2.0 and wireless ethernet! It's nice, but it would be nicer if the internet/my modem/router didn't take a crap every few days. I'm going to call Verizon and complain and get a discount or something. It's fucking ridiculous. I'm using their service and their equipment... it should work better.
I spent a couple of days down in Dover/Portsmouth with a couple of friends of mine. Bought a little overpriced Guinness ($4.75), bought lots of cheap Guinness ("When it snows, the Guinness flows" dollar pints until it runs out). Hung out for approximately five minutes with Friday and Stina. Walked around a bit. Slept a bit. Took turns reading selections from America (The Book) with some friends. Drove home through freshly (and in some places, not) plowed streets with a surprisingly minimal hangover. Driving was slightly terrible. Some roads were plowed but even so they had a layer of packed down snow covering them so that is slippery. I saw four or five people driving like assholes, trying to get their cars to slide around. I admit that I am occasionally guilty of doing this too, but not when there are other cars around, and certainly not around a corner into oncoming traffic
In some places the road wasn't plowed and I had to drive through over a foot of snow.
My mighty $450 Subaru kicked the snow's ass.
Worked last night, working tonight, working tomorrow night, working more... yet it's still not enough. I have to find an additional job, at least until April when I think my summer job will start up. mmm... summer....
