Their are three species of goldfish, each with their own sub-breeds. Most likey these sub-species formed because of evolution.
1-Regular goldfish-- do not have any identifying marks to tell which sex they are, most of them are slighty ridged on the one side and flat on the other. This most likely helps the gold fish manuever itself or possibly escape a predator. It usually loses out, as it is a very docile creature and easilt preyed upon.
2-Smiley Goldfish-- although very similir to its cousin the regular goldfish, this species is known for its characteristic "smile". This species is not found as often as the regular goldfish, so it is usually harder to find. population differences are at about a 3:1 ratio
3-Fin-less Goldfish-- This species is a mutation of its two sister species. It can retain characteristics of both the regular and smiley goldfish. This species is noted for either the lack of its fins or head. This breed is usually attacked by the other goldfish, as to kill off this weeker species. Most often the fin-less goldfish swims at a lower depth than it cousins, as it cant fight the currents at the top of the............
