Hey, ladies & gents, @rambo @missy
You know me : I'm a self-improvement junkie.
It can be hard sometimes, as a woman, to live in a society of perfection, or, more precisely, in a society where we SHOULD - but obviously can't because we humans have flaws - be perfect.
Coming back to SG after my long 7 years break was not easy. I'm not confident at all, contrary to popular belief. And I know I'm not the only one using photography as a "self help treatment" to cope with my lack of self love. I'm improving, though, thanks to the wonderful community here, but sometimes it's hard.
My main problem is this "compare & despair" thing I've read about in the past. Compare & despair is the worst thing because everyone is different, with its own life path, its own problem & issues. I have qualities, flaws, and I'm learning to accept them, and to love them everyday.
What helped me the most in my quest to better confidence is a book, called Life without Ed and written by Jenni Schefer. It's a self-help book for people suffering of anorexia, bulimia and poor body image... and well, this book really helped me recover.
If you're suffering of the same problem and if I should give you ONE advice, it's this one : please read this page on the author's website. This piece of advice is so helpful.
I also recommend reading this one if like me you're a diehard recovering perfectionist :
<3 we're all perfect and beautiful.
