Hmm... it was probabably a good idea that I decided not to persue a career in teaching. Last week Friday I was receiving many phone calls for substitute teaching jobs. I really didn't know why at first, especially since my emergency credential expired at the beginning of March. I shouldn't have received any calls at all, but I guess they were desparate. Later on I found out why... numerous teachers were laid off due to budget cuts. Usually when there is a shortage of teachers they call in the subs to fill in any spot available. Obviously they didn't have enough. I know that if I had continued teaching I would be one of the many laid off because I would have had no seniority. I like how our state government solves the budget problem by cutting education... yes, let's make the future runners of the state uneducated. I'm sure they could have cut money somewhere else... like maybe the salaries of the people that got us into this mess to begin with since they could be bothered to do their jobs right.
Sorry, had to mention that... moving on...
Friday was a bit of a busy day at work. I was looking forward to a crazy night at Underground... well, I have been due for a slow night there... more like a dead night. There was an extremely small crowd that showed up. Oh well, it can't be amazing everytime. I did stick around late afterwards talking with a few good friends and when I finally headed to my car the streets were deserted... wow, it was quite an erie sight.
Saturday I went over to a co-worker's place to fix her computer. She couldn't get her computer to recognize her printer. It only took a few seconds to fix, so we hung out and chatted a bit. Then I headed home and was lazy for the rest of the night.
Sunday I was hoping to go catch a movie but when I woke up I was feeling pretty lazy again so nothing happened that day either.
Today was pretty insanely busy. The boss was out of the office most of the day and there was some calls from attorneys who needed reports at the last minute. They never told us they had a rush deadline, nor did they return our calls 2 weeks ago asking when they needed their reports. Really irritating, so I spent my day busting my ass trying to help them get what they need. I will still be working on it tomorrow. *sigh*
