Well, the team won last night. They are on a 3 game winning streak and are moving closer to a playoff spot. Hopefully they can make it.
Today at work sucked balls. It was over something lame that my boss decided to make a big deal. So, I was asked to get the new internet computer up and running in the office before the owner came in, which I did. It's pretty nice and with a 22 inch widescreen monitor which is bigger than any other monitor in the office.
First my boss starts not paying attention to what she's doing and somehow tries to open a new email account thinking it's our normal one. She tells me the computer is fucking up because it keeps putting a "q" at the end of the .com part of the email address. I tell her the computer only puts on the screen what she types. She is insistant the the computer is messing up and that I should fix it. Seriously, just admit you made a mistake!!! So I delete what she did, went back to our regular email, logged in and told her I "fixed" it, rolling my eyes the whole time.
Next my boss looks at the new monitor and says "What's wrong with this monitor? Everything is looks big and it looks stretched." NO SHIT EVERTHING LOOKS BIG!!! IT"S A BIGGER MONITOR THAN BEFORE!!! And it looks stretched only because it's a different way to see what you normally look at because it's a widescreen. I swear my boss is retarded.
So anyways, she's the only one who doesn't like it and wants me to "fix" it. Basically she wants me to make it stop being so bit and widescreen. I play with the resolution to make the images a bit smaller but there is nothing I can do to make it stop being widescreen because that is just not possible. Of course she bitches up and down when I tell her there is nothing that can be done. So she starts fucking around with it not knowing what she's doing... randomly clicking buttons everywhere. So I have to go in and fix the monitor settings and then do some minor adjustments to clear up the images on the screen a bit. But no, this isn't good enough. She then calls tech support to ask them how to make it stop being widescreen. I then write this off as her problem since she took it this far... but no, she then calls me back to the computer to deal with the tech support guy on the phone because she doesn't understand what he's saying. So right away I tell her it can't be done while the dude is on speaker phone. She gives me the dirtiest look and says "work with him". So I sit down and work with the guy. He has no idea what she wanted because she couldn't even explain it properly. So I explain what she wants and he says "I've never heard of this. I don't think it can be done." But like a good customer service rep he does his best to try. He even asked some of his co-workers and they said the same thing. He even apoligized to me like it was his fault for not knowing what to do. I told him not to worry about it. I did everything he suggested earlier and came to the same conclusion.
So I go back to my boss (because she left the room) and tell her the tech guys said it couldn't be done... LIKE I TOLD HER ALL DAY LONG!!! And what do I get? "Well, I guess I'm satified with that answer now." FUUUUUUUUUUCK YOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You waste my whole day with this shit! I said it couldn't be done. I may not be a tech support person but I'm pretty close to one since I'm constantly tinkering with my own computer, getting tips from my brother who is head of his company's IT department, AND I hooked up ALL the computers in the office to the regular network AND set up the internet network. No, I don't have a clue what I'm doing. Next time she asks me to so something computer related in the office I'm just going to give her the finger and say "Why? You never believe I know what I'm doing anyways."
Seriously fucked up day.
