I'm back... tired and burned.
The cruise was lots of fun... of course I didn't take as many pics as I wanted to... yeah, I know I'm bad about that sort of thing. Well, some didn't come out too well due to unsteady drunken hands.
So it all begins on Friday morning when I wake up with the beginnings of a cold. Yeah, not a great way to start off my trip. But I was determined to ignore it and keep going hard. The cabins were kind of dinky but it's not like we were going to spend a lot of time in them.
This was mine and my Dad's cabin.
This was the view from our window.
As soon as we got on the boat it was off to the pool deck to hang out, drink, and admire all the bikini clad women. There was places to get food EVERYWHERE and most of it was already paid for by your passage on the ship so you could keep eating until you explode. Our group always ate dinner together in the formal dining room every night where we pounded more drinks, ate some amazing food, and planned the rest of the night's fun. The first night we hung out on the pool deck again, continued to drink and play some cards. One of the guys brought cigars and passed them around so we could make our card game look more hard core.
This is me and my younger brother drinking it up (he was completely trashed at this point, as was the person taking the pic, hense the blurriness).
Saturday morning we arrived in Ensenada, Mexico. My brother, his wife, my dad and I decided to just visit the downtown area of the city. On the way you can't help but notice this GIANT Mexican flag flying over the port.
It must be at least 20-30 feet in length.
We spent a good 3 or 4 hours wandering the streets checking out the shops.
Then we dicided we needed to get a bite to eat, so my brother and his wife wanted to go inside Papas & Beer. They wanted to try it the last cruise they were on but never made it. As soon as you walk in it was like walking into some sort of frat party. I wasn't really diging the loud music and the bartenders running around blowing their wistles and getting people to do stupid shit. Now here's where it got a little awkward... my dad is VERY conservative. I could tell he already wasn't digging the music, but then the announcement that the wet t-shirt contest was going to begin soon. But before that happened, one of the bartenders had removed some girl's shirt and started carrying her around the bar on his shoulder so everyone could get a view... yeah, VERY awkward to be there with my dad. Needless to say, we didn't stay too long after we ate. So we never saw the wet t-shirt contest.
As we walked back to the ship, a fog had rolled in but it was still very humid.
But the fog didn't last long and we were back to sunny weather.
Dinner that night was the "formal" dinner so I had to dress a little more presentable than I had been on the entire trip.
Me and my Dad
During dinner, the room attendants go through and clean the cabins. when we got back to change back into normal clothes we found these on our beds.
Apparently they like to make animals out of the clean towels the leave for you. The rest of the night continued with lots more drinking and some gambling in the ship's casino.
Sunday, the ships went out to sea and spent the entire day there. I pretty much spent the entire day on the pool deck admiring the view.
Oh, and drinking interesting drinks.
They hollowed out a pineapple to use as a glass, filled it with rum and some sort of mango slushie.
Not too bad.
This was the day where my burn came from. I should have found something inside the ship to do for a bit of the time... oh well.
That night they had an adults only contest in one of the clubs. It was kind of like a team scavanger hunt/dare competition. They asked for people to bring up random ass things and earn points for your team... but they also had people do some weird shit for points as well. One was a guy and a girl from each team to exchange shirt and pants on the dance floor. You'd be surprised how many ran out there. AND how many of the women that did were pretty cute.
They also had a competition for the women to turn one of the guys on their team into the prettiest girl.
These pics are a little blurry due to all the chaos going on.
The ship finally pulled back into the LA Port around 5:30am this morning and I got off it around 8:00am. I took my dad to the airport and then drove into work exhausted. During part of the afternoon, I was falling asleep at my desk. So now I'm glad I'm home, but I definitely would love to go on another cruise should the chance arise again.

My fear of cruises has to do with a bit of both of those things you mentioned
