What A Week It's Been
Get out of Jail Free!
A week ago Friday, I did work at the new Aurora Police Department. Can't say what but this is what the detention area looks like.
That stuff in the air? There was so much dust everywhere I wonder what my lungs look like.

The Murtaugh List
The Cubs had their home opener last monday and I was there. Jason, Larry, Pete and I thought they would cancel but, NOOO, have to keep the bars in Wrigleyville full. This was the drive in.
The temp was about 40 degrees farenheit and there was a constant wind blowing at me. Even when it stopped raining there was still 100% humidity and a light mist was blowing into our faces.
Lilly had a no hitter and once we were going to stay as long as it lasted then head to a bar to watch the rest of the game. At 6 and 2/3rds (top of the 7th) someone got a base hit. We didn't even stay one more out to hear "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." We went to Leona's and watched the rest of the game and regained some feeling in our extremities.
There were at least 3 other groups of people I knew there and didn't try to contact any of them. Later one guy said he had the shivers all night and another said he was so cold his wife made him sleep on the couch.
MOLD-A-RAMA
College friend, Warren - who now works at Pixar, was in for the week and I spent Thursday with him. We spent the day talking. This is his daughter, Talulah, taking off a window-cling at a Starbucks.
We ended up going to brookfield Zoo which had several exhibits we wanted to see like the new Dinosaur thing or one of the two bat houses but they remained unseen. We arrived at 3:30 and they were only open until 5. We had passes to get in free so no big loss but animatronic dinosaurs!
I did get a Mold-o-rama Stegosaurus which I had as a kid.
It's gotta be the shoes!
I have a birthday coming up and did stuff with friends in Rochelle yesterday. On my way in I stopped at mom's to pick up mail, one piece, a package from Portland. The weird part? I haven't ordered anything in a long time. The package turned out to be limited Corlaine Nike Dunks. Only 2000 pair made. Only available as a Coraline website giveaway.
The soles glow in the dark!
Checked ebay and the going price is $250-$300 which means I can keep them. There was a much more limited set of 100 which goes for around $3K-$4K! They come in a cool box and have a big button on the tongue where the cat's head or a circus mouse head could be attached.
At Jason's we the standard array of snacks as well as birthday cake. We watched the Cubs game and then watched videos on YouTube including Mario Kart Death Race and a lot of Andy Samberg vids. Got to see both Parks and Recreations which were OK but nothing special yet.
