And I Shall Name Him... MINI ME
Quick wrap up. I realized it two days in but was too lazy to fix it but since it's been pointed out: Nicola Bryant played the voluptuous companion Peri to Colin Baker's Doctor Who, while Nicola Scott is one of many hot, female, comic artists. She's even a ComicSpace friend. If only I knew what ComicSpace was, it's even worse than FaceBook. Oh yeah, back to the Slutty Profile on MySpace.
So, my car has been having problems. It's a 98 Mercury Tracer and over winter it started leaking coolant, but only under high pressure so there weren't big puddles under where ever I parked. It's gotten to the stage where I refill the coolant about once every week and an half. When I first bought the tracer, one of the first things I did was go to Mitsuwa (then Yaohan) and on the way there 355 was under construction and something hit my windshield and there has been a small spiderweb crack there for my ownership of the car. 3 months back something fell off a truck and hit the exact spot and made the crack bigger. Within the past month the crack has widened. Recently (2 months or so) something happened to the flex exhaust pipe and the car makes an horrible rattling sound. No danger but it sounds like it's about to die. Just this week it started sputtering, I'm guessing something is wrong with the fuel injector but it could be a transmission or maybe just a spark plug issue. Still it's another thing and driving in the rain last night with sputtery acceleration was just hell. So today I have a new car. A red Mini Cooper.
So I was supposed to buy the car last week for my birthday. Instead I got food poisoning. I was so burned out from work that I was just useless. I took off early even that Thursday so I'd have Friday - Monday off. I was going to buy a car and see Forbidden Kingdom on Friday, then be by myself downtown for until Monday when I had a dentist appointment. I was going to blow off the Chris and Sarah birthday thing being thrown for me and Popp Saturday and not because it would suck but because I needed to get away from everyone before I went crazy. (And they planned it without asking if I was free that night...) Instead, Thursday evening, I had dinner out with mom, and Thursday night I had food poisoning. Full blown, shivers, fever, chills, achy leg food poisoning. Oh and the vomiting. And the other end too. There was an earthquake Friday morning which I was awake for but I didn't feel it cuz I was undergoing my own quaking. Still, it was the better of the 2 family birthday dinners. I did nothing on Friday, did go to the Chris and Sarah thing Saturday (and it was lotsa fun) and then went to Chicago on Sunday and saw Forbidden Kingdom downtown. I was still under the weather but recovered by Tuesday just in time to go back to work.
Missed Heather's birthday thing at North Beach yesterday because of the car and Kristen is in town but I haven't heard from her so I doubt I'll be showing up to surprise her somewhere as is my way.
Oh, yeah. What did I do just after buying the car? I went to Mistuwa. Don't look at the windshield.
