Weekend Update
My cough's been getting worse. I don't feel too bad but the cough sounds horrible. Upon hearing me, Matt wondered if I needed to go to the doctor then and there. So it's probably best I didn't go for Ribs. Chris and Sara were kind enough to send a slab back with Matt so I got to try them anyways and they were excellent! They were well seasoned, tender and were grilled on both sides (I don't know that I would have charred the underside but maybe they were left on too long.)
Tracked down an old college friend, Spam (that was her nickmame then) on MySpace. Here's an old embarrassing picture of her
I asked her if the picture brough back memories and she remarked, "Whoa. That girl is deeee-runk." Just to make up for it here's an old one of me with Pixar-Warren (doesn't he look like James Woods?) and then-wife Julie.
A pudgy asian with a rat-tail and wearing a comic book t-shirt. At least I don't have the rat-tail now. Nor do I have the Rorschach t-shirt. Hmmmm. Sad now. But I digress...
Spam was coolest person I knew in sea of conformity that was college life, though she was definitely on the artsy side (as opposed to the greek/jock, nerd, etc.) and one of two women who I had a mad-on crush for though nothing ever happened.
We'll see if it's a decade plus before I get in touch again.
A few other things.
I never did the follow-up camera-shoved-down-my-throat thing. They had mentioned that I couldn't drive to and from the procedure but didn't mention that I couldn't drive for 12 hours afterwards. Chris and Sarah's wedding was that evening so there was really no choice at all.
I'm really starting to hate work. I can't go into specifics cuz I don't blog about work but I may be burnt-out and looking for a way out.
Last Wednesday, I went to Skottie Young's Lead Poets Society (a Drink and Draw thing) for the first time in what may be at least 6 months and it was a small group: Norton, Pat, Smarto, Burnham and the other guy who's name I can't remember. The theme was video games and I drew a Pitfall and a Cammy/Killer Bee mix cuz I couldn't remember what her costume was exactly. As Pat describes it, it's a guys' knitting circle, and Pat and Norton talked for the entirety of it.
Cannon-drill!
Oh and what the hey, one more of Spam.
