Ah, Wizard World Chicago. The show's mellowed out A LOT. It was better when there were only a few major shows and Wizard only owned one of them. Now they own at least 4. The weekend went smoothly but I was ready for it to be over about halfway through Saturday. I got autographs from Takeshi Miyazawa (Mary Jane) and Zander Cannon (Smax) for THE BOOK and also spent $70 on a Seinkiewicz sketchbook which included a gorgeous original sketch of Elektra. The only comic I bought was Zander's Bone Sharps TPB. It's really getting harder and harder to find new, good stuff to read - it's all getting out there pretty fast so if you haven't heard of it, it's probably not that good. Still, there's always hope.
There were also some pretty good costumes.
The White Queen:
Another White Queen:
Pikachu
Captain Jack Sparrow (with Leah)
And Power Girl (with my friend Mike):
There was a Michael Turner Supergirl but I didn't get a clear picture of her. She was unbelievably skinny which really worked for being a living Turner drawing. There were also great versions of Crayon-shin-chan, Apocalypse, and Mario & Luigi!
