The trouble with buying Japanese CDs is that they're hella expensive. I know enough nihongo to have a pretty good idea of what I'm getting but until you actually listen to what you get you never know. I tried to buy a japanese christmas cd which had japanese artists singing traditional english language songs. The kitch factor on stuff like this is incredibly high. my favorite is the KOGA release So You Want to Be A Rock N Roll Star where various bands cover some relatively well known songs. I wanted to link here but apparently www.towerrecords.co.jp is undergoing maintenence. maybe later.
The x-mas cd I bought was Idol Chirstmas Songs where they actuall wrote there own songs. It's an OK pop album but not what I wanted. Still, I have pocky and grape mints.
