another one for the records...
gosh, i will miss stuff.
i spent much of yesterday recovering from the bottle of wine i consumed friday night.
later i met melissa at allison's and we all cabbed it to trees and caught they might be giants.
let me just say that, besides being my new favorite band !!! dudes are HOT!
it's so great to watch people perform - they had so much fun. and i had so much fun!
after the show, we marched on and ended up at clearview (but didn't have to fork out cover, hurrah!)
things in the art bar were moving slowly and the club show wasn't appealing at the time, so we climbed up to the roof for fresh air and a cool breeze. it was so beautiful, the view of the city and the clear sky.
eventually i couldn't stand it anymore and, being MY PARTY, i pulled the whine card and cried about the lack of rug-cutting. the floor was completely empty so we started something! i grabbed the nearest pretty girl and she agreed that people were being lame by leaving an empty dancefloor and one thing led to another - soon it was packed. i was so glad. and i was SO sweaty!
once tired and parched, we merged into the club and got shots, found a place stage-side and awed at the band... they reminded me of radiohead-slash-the_cure. there was a moment when i really wanted to shed tears, holding allison, eyes closed, head on her shoulder, rocking together with the music.
it's been too long since i've been out with melissa... past experience has proven to be disappointing because of the group we used to go with. perhaps i was wrong to decline so many other invitations to join them, but i was avoiding drama, i suppose, and doing other things.
i'm glad she could be there last night. i'll miss her - i'm trying to convince her to come visit me and see the city herself.
when we ran out of money we caught a cab to the market around the corner from al's. we shopped. and then we sat in the floor at the register waiting for the manager to get the machine working again.
i will always remember the image of us sprawled out on the dirty linoleum floor in albertsons, complaining about our rumbling bellies and making chit-chat with other line-standers.
for real.
we walked home together, us three, and sat together around a chair eating sandwiches and french fries. allison was so sweet to oblige me with those. ore-ida crinkles are the best for mid-morning drunken munches.
and low maintenance, too.
why am i rambling?
i just want to remember, i think.
i don't think i'll forget, though.
i have to get dressed.
mom is slowly but surely rearranging the contents of my bedroom. every time i come home i find something else missing from in there and placed in some other part of the house.
i'm happy that my birdcage will be safe.
it still doesn't feel very real... though it's just kindof matter-of-fact.
good stuff.
i have GOT to see about that girl on kauai. got to got to got to.

But don't worry it's not goodbye, just "till we meet again!" I'll miss you till I see you again.
