something i will miss about texas heat:
playing in the water hose at 9 a.m.


had a lovely evening bouncing from one place to another and crashing at a friend's.
woke up looking pretty goofy with leftover makeup on. but i got to put on my party dress and make nice with many folks.
my schedule is fill-fill-full again. but it's cool
this week will fly by like nothin'

the old man is anxious for noon-time.
going to get his beer is a trip.
i get the funniest looks in the markets around here.
now, if i were in south dallas, i possibly wouldn't get a second glance.
but in suburbia, a short white girl in house shorts and a thrasher t-shirt, a headrag and sunglasses, gets crossed-eyes when waltzing through with a case of schlitz malt under her arm.

and then we dance in the garage


get on up, on the floor

listen to the music


i put my easel away and it really makes things seem like i don't live here anymore
