:Transmission Begins:
This was on my Facebook page when I woke up this morning, made strange things happen where my heart is supposed to be, the Quote is from Carl Sagan's Wife Ann, Druyan.... thought I would share.
"Carl faced his death with unflagging courage and never sought refuge in illusions. The tragedy was that we knew we would never see each other again. I don't ever expect to be reunited with Carl. But, the great thing is that when we were together, for nearly twenty years, we lived with a vivid appreciation of how brief and precious life is. We never trivialized the meaning of death by pretending it was anything other than a final parting . . . The way he treated me and the way I treated him, the way we took care of each other and our family, while he lived. That is so much more important than the idea I will see him someday. I don't think I'll ever see Carl again. But I saw him. We saw each other. We found each other in the cosmos, and that was wonderful."
Spring Break this week so I have 10 days to prepare for how my students will be when they come back. In discussion with the district to offer parenting classes to try and help the parents of my behavior disorder kids deal with their kids... not sure how it will fly, but we shall see.
Breakthrough of the week, Ms. Z has been having a severe bout of depression the past few weeks. Well her birthday was this week, so we all got a few bucks together and bought her some new art supplies, and she spent the morning baking her own birthday cake in our fancy new kitchenette, she was very happy by the end of her day and went around accepting compliments from students, and even got a hug from her Bro (Big J, our only true Autistic), which she told me meant a lot to her because he never does that at home, and can't tell people how he feels (He;s non-communicative). When she was leaving I asked her how she was feeling and she gave me a big hug, and told me that she was very loved at school (I got a bit misty, but kept my stoic demeanor). All in all a good week.
Heres some Amanda Palmer, cause it has been awhile...
