Sometimes looking at where you've come from is confusing as all hell.
For instance, consider the first three records I ever bought (they weren't records, of course...this was the early 90s, they were fucking casettes):
1. Alanis Morrisette, Jagged Little Pill. This one doesn't bother me in the least. I still like most of this album.
2. Hootie & the Blowfish, Cracked Rear View. Yeah, I know it sucks. I was fucking 11 & it was insanely popular-emphasis on the 'insane.'
3. TLC, CrazySexyCool. Now here's the confusing part. What the hell is a white, pre-teen, pseudo-urban/pseudo-rural kid doing listening to this? Fucking MTV.
I also have "The Macarena" on a casette somewhere, recorded off the radio--but that has camp value.
Damn did the 90s suck.

hmm... first couple of tapes. I had a weird al tape for some reason, the soundtrack for "Reality Bites", and the Downward Spiral. I begged and pleaded with my parents to get me it, and when they said no i just gave some money to my older brother.
