Well, fun weekend already. Turned into some kind of random art crawl.
Fri: With Judas & her friend Michael I went to an awesome display of Guy Nelson's work (Sweet Jesus!) at a gallery I can't recall the name of, then for drinks with them &neodrunk.
Sat: Going an hour late to a CC breakfast I assumed wouldn't happen, I ran into Rylie and Taiko, who I ended up buying vodka for, and later pinko and parks, who I ended up going to the Franklin Art Gallery with. Then, after random shopping and haircut, I got to see Bright Eyes with a ticket Taiko was good enough to supply for me. It wasn't a spectacular show, but definitely worthwhile. The new material's pretty fucking good--got me all teary-eyed at one point, it did.
Sun: After breakfast, Sarah and I hit up MIA for an afternoon of browsing old and new (the new sucked...it generally does). And even though we didn't get to the Beauford Delaney exhibit, and even though she doesn't seem to like most of my favorite artists (fucking Kandinsky, man!), it was a lovely time.
So now I'm sitting in an apartment my friend Molly is housesitting, ready for a night of hard drinking. Now that's a fucking weekend...
Oh, and the haircut: I'm growing to like it, though mostly I'm just dealing with the weirdness of having hair this short (it's been four years). AND, everyone else I know that's seen it likes is so far. So...whatever. It's done, it'll be dealt with.
And in less than three days, New Orleans. Excitement isn't the right word, because I don't like to deal in understatements, but there you are. I'm fucking excited.
Cheers, all.
