Between booking last-minute sound jobs and making plans to head out of town and my writing and directing and trying to get a street gang off the ground, there's lots going on this week!

But first, a Random Thought (soon to be a recurring fixture in my scribblings here):

Is it just me, or do you ever find yourself not updating your journal as often...

Dude, my aol browsers completely messed up. I just posted in your buddies journal and while trying to edit my profile I lost my friends list. I give up!!! mad

Well, at least you had fun at the auto show. Sounds like I missed quite a bit. The VW must be quite a ride. It seems to blow the whole small Beetle perception right out of the water.

Hey Cineman!

Thanks for the message, it's nice to have people take a secon to say "hello" and all that.
I'll be in La from mid-feb to the end of April, so whatever happens with my auditions I'll miss most of the NY winter anyway.
Sounds like you've got a lot going on, which is exactly what I'm learning you have to do in our biz.
GOod luck with your projects and feel free to give me a shout back anytime!

HOLY F'n SHITE: I just got 3 movies back to back! Barring a disaster (or me getting an unbelievably better offer), I leave L.A. in 3 weeks and should be gone until sometime this summer.

They're all back East: two in or around Charlotte, NC, and one in Baltimore. I'll miss Santa Monica, but whatever. I was out of town almost 9 months last year,...

My buddy fentopal posted something great in his journal that prompted this. Please let me know what you think of my ramblings...

Have you ever had a successful and lasting long-term romantic reunion with someone, or is it always destined to be a replay of your previous relationship together?

It's an interesting dilemma when someone you used to care about deeply many years ago resurfaces:...

So, the writing is going well - I'm actually on schedule, amazingly enough - and I just took a break and looked over at the clock and realized it's official:

I'm old now.

Beats the alternative, though...right?

NOTE: I am adding a lot of newly unearthed pix soon, for your amusement and mine. Check back often...and enjoy!

Dont tell me -- it was the flu, right? Everybody seems to be sick these days. Ive been taking Vitamin C and Zinc supplements -- so far, so good.

There should be a bunch of us. The SGLA group has 274 members. Im sure there will be other events soon. But, if youre around this Saturday, just drop by. It seems there will also be a lot of new members like us.
fentopal:
Good luck with the writing and happy belated birthday. God, I hope I never grow as old as you. biggrin

Hey folks! I hope everybody had a great time doing whatever they did for New Year's Eve last night. As I found myself with a nice, roommate-less house all to myself, and I'm not dating anyone right now and most of my friends are out of town anyway, I elected to stay in and watch some movies and reflect...and it was cool. The simplest N.Y.E....

Ever just get tired of yourself? I reread my last journal entry and decided to replace it with this one instead...

which says, basically, nothing.

Happy Holidays!

Hey! Thanks for e-mailin' me. Though I don't think I have ever seen any of those movies! Heh, heard of quite a few...

It also sounds like you have a cool job there, and it affords you some time to work on your own projects. Best of luck to you and I hope to hear about what's going down in the future.

Happy new year!

Woah, the thing in your profile pic(that you're standing next to), looks like one of the wheelers from the return to Oz. Only a little creepier. I just saw your post in the BCB group and thought I'd say hi.

So, Hi and Happy New Year!

Since my SG posse is limited in scope, I could probably just zap off about 5 personal emails and say hi to everyone separately...but this is also an exercise for myself, so here goes:

I am very positive about my creative prospects for the New Year. Mainly, I have decided to produce and direct Tom (fentopal)'s script - which is excellent, IMHO. My partners are...

My Life This Week: The Good and The Bad

I finally found an excellent short script to produce / direct (thanks, Tom! We'll need to chat soon.). My D.P. and another producer and I met last night and they are both excited about it also, so now the fun of development and pre-production begins...

Thanks to 20 hours of physical therapy a week, I'm getting...

What a cool week! After being unavailable every time he's asked me this last year, I was finally able to go out and work with my friend Ben on "Alias". What a great cast and crew vibe they've got going on: 3 seasons in and they really are a big tight family. They shoot out on the Disney lot in Burbank, which is truly a...

I've got a few unproduced shorts saved up -- leftover from Film School. Two come to mind: a non-dialogue script about a bearded lady on the lam and a period piece about a boy home from boarding school trying to kill his new sister (both comedies). What kind of stuff are you interested in doing?

Hmm, 4:02 AM and trolling the 'net. Killing time when I should either be sleeping (after all, the Kava's kicked in and I'm nodding off) or writing (something that pays the bills, that is - not journaling). But I'm not doing either - yet, though sleep is bound to win soon. So what am I doing?

The same thing that you're doing right now: soaking...
