My Life This Week: The Good and The Bad
I finally found an excellent short script to produce / direct (thanks, Tom! We'll need to chat soon.). My D.P. and another producer and I met last night and they are both excited about it also, so now the fun of development and pre-production begins...
Thanks to 20 hours of physical therapy a week, I'm getting better from a car accident I was in 5 weeks ago, but it has temporarily screwed up my finances: I'm out of pocket tons (about $1000) for a rental car since my insurance ran out, and have been fronting various medical bills that are really adding up, though they will eventually be repaid either through insurance or a settlement - the accident wasn't my fault, and I will eventually get it all back and then some. I also had to turn down some physically demanding sound work that was most of my expected income for December, and had to cancel my trip home to see my Moms and her husband for the holidays because of the need to stay closeby for my PT appointments in Santa Monica...
But I did just get my car back yesterday and it looks as good as new, so no more rental bills. And my lawyer kicks ass and tells me everything's gonna be alright, so at least I can let her handle all the legal and insurance B.S. and not sweat it myself...
And as I was reminded last night when we went out, I have some really great and talented friends...so I think I'm actually a very lucky guy.
Well, it seems my pain meds have kicked in now (Vicodin), so pardon my rambling...but thanks for reading anyway!

fentopal:
Sorry about the car accident... That sucks. But I'm glad you enjoy the script. I look forward to hearing what you'll do with it.
