What an odd December this has been:
- extensive travel prior to the holidays, then no time / patience / money to travel "home" FOR the holidays;
- major, life-changing career stuff brewing;
- contemplating the personal repercussions of said career stuff is pleasant and surreal, all at once;
- re-/de- connecting/valuating/volving with people close and far, in ways that range from galvanizing and reassuring to demoralizing and destructive - usually (in most cases) long overdue;
- looking ahead a few more weeks to a big birthday for me - *cough* four-oh - is...interesting. Not bad, there's no dread, etc...it's just fucking WEIRD in some ways. Since I either feel 18 or 8000 depending on the day and circumstances, in most ways I can't really relate to the number - but in other ways I feel every second of it, and all at once, too;
How have the holidays been treating you? Any big revelations?
