I've known this for a long while now but couldn't say anything until it was public, which it all but is now and will be conclusively on Monday when NBC announces their Fall schedule:
NBC is canceling my favorite show: "Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip".
Yes, I know it was unbelievably expensive for a niche show that plays to a very specific, i.e. limited, market. If I was a network exec would I have put it on the air? With that cast and crew and staff, how could you not? But in hindsight - where we're all geniuses, admittedly - making a show like that a success required a different marketing effort than that which was undertaken by NBC, and it was apparent to me and many others by about the midway point of the episodes aired to date that it was likely doomed, which was confirmed by the scores of people I know or have met who worked on it or otherwise were in positions to know what was up.
To be fair I will also say that creatively I think the showrunners lost their way more than once, too, but when it worked it was, to my eye and ear, as good as anything gets - on TV or elsewhere - and it will be missed.

I think i'm gonna rethink my day to day involvement in movies. it's a crap busines to make money in and I'm so frustrated at this moment.
I liked studio 60, but I figured it'd get cancelled... NBC is the new broadcast cemetary, three years ago they were on top!
yes, WKTEC was our film and he's a great colorist.
