Well I have been away for a bit visiting with family and enjoying my new kayak. I have been off work all week and even though weather hasn't been great I still found myself on the river as much as possible. My first trip out was fun and relaxing. But yesterday I decided to go the opposite way. That was a learning lesson waiting to happen. I ended up being waist deep in VERY cold water dragging my kayak to a safe spot where I though I could escape the current. I ended up having a 3 hour battle against the current just to get back to my dropping spot. The weather changed quick on me and it suked. I am sore, blisterfilled, and bruised...and a bit smarter with this whole river travel. It is going to rain all day today so I think my next trip will be tomorrow...hopefully the current and weather act right!
