Ok, so, for whatever reason, my desktop shit the bed. Unfortunately, it also had the brand new super fast cable internet. Which I can't for the life of me figure out how to install into anything else...so now I am stuck, sitting outside with my old laptop, because whatever wireless connection I am picking up isn't strong enough to actually let me go online inside my house. I am now sitting under a tree in my yard, in the dark, pecking for the right keys...And there are a lot of spooooooky noises. Not to mention the funkiest smell.
I decided I am going to go home this weekend, only because it is a three day weekend and I let no excuse pass me by to party at the Muse!
My friend and I lost our heads in the Christmas Tree Shoppe today. Halloween candy was on sale at a HUGE discount. So we totally ravaged it, and bought like 10 bags. Even bat and pumpkin shaped pretzels! Considering I don't eat candy normally, and Halloween isn't for almost a month, I don't know where I am going to store it all.
But I am proud of myself. I ended up eating more candy than I have collectively since I was 16, I think. But I still went to the gym, instead of just lazing around and saying forget it.
My friend and I were like 10 year olds, making little bags full of candy. We picked out all of the tootsie pops and tied kleenexs around them, and drew scaaary ghosty faces on them, and tied those on the outside of the treat baggies. My house will be the hit place to Trick-or-Treat!!
I also bought two yards of Halloween fabric - .99 a yard! - and some black and orange ribbon. I will take it home with me and my mom's going to help me make little fabric baggies. Then I will stuff those with candy, as well, and send them back to Nantucket for my friends! I think, considering most of my friends have kids, the bags will be appreciated! (until that night when they can't sleep 'cause they're coked out on sugar.)
Hah...all this and Halloween is sooo far away!
I made cookies today! As pathetic as it sounds, this is the first time I have baked anything from scratch since I have lived alone...well really, ever. I am NOT the domestic type. I know how to do it all, but it isn't the same without my mother always over my shoulder, my brother asking what I am making, or my dad trying to eat it before it's done!
These are my creations:

And a proud mother I am!
Now, I think I am going to go and order Dominos!
