Good lord.
I just spent an entire night in the country with a bunch of cowboys. It was... weird. My roomate's best friend was having a wedding reception, and they needed a bartender, I was promised money so I agreed to go. Needless to say, I really didn't fit in wearing my ripped jeans, my favorite thrift store tshirt and my Cons.
Now don't get me wrong, everyone was super friendly... I didn't have a shortage of people to talk to. It was just that they fit the cowboy stereotype to the t. Tight jeans, plaid shirts, big hats, drinking double rye and waters. I suppose I should be somewhat used to this living in Calgary, but I'm not.
Anyway I'm a little choked because I didn't get paid for spending the whole night out there (it was too far out of the city to come back home that night, I had to stay in some woman's trailer and her heat was broken so I froze). The bride's brother took it upon himself to help me... not that I minded the company, its just that he took half the tips at the end of the night, and told the bride when she offered to pay us, "No way! We were happy to do it!"
Well, I wasn't.
Still I guess I can't scoff at my half of the tips ($75) and it was a favour to my roomate. Whatever.

In other news... I found a new place to live. A really neat funky old house, with four boys. I'm really happy. The location is great, right close to downtown and work, and well everything. The guys all seem really nice, and its cheaper than what I'm paying now.
I suppose I have to start thinking about packing. Its amazing how much crap a person accumulates over a year.
