so its beeeeeen a little bit since my last entry. life right now is one part liquor, one part whirlwind and two parts choas, shaken and served in a shot glass. so here is a recap -
last saturday - the SGNY PARTY. i had a great time. i don't remember if anyone else did, hahahaha! serioiusly it was very interesting. letting people you have never met before into your home and having a good time. i must admit i was nervous. not about meeting people but making sure they have a good time. so when autumn, autumns friend and john showed up and it was just the 3 of them until 10:30, i thought, oh shit, no one is coming. i had all this food and booze (none of them were drinking, well, at that point) and i thought we were the party. but then they crowd started showing up, fashionably late. once mini conversation started and the party took itself over i felt like i didn't have to really host anymore. the rest of the night became a mix of little talks, quick drinks, dim lighting, camera flashes, empty bottles clicking together and ended with me waking up going, what the fuck? so all in all i think it was a success. would love to go to another one, would love to host another one.
special shout outs - johnny_fantastic - great fuckin ping pong skills. worked me in my own home. don't know how much i can blame it on alcohol but we will see again.
aka55 and vegemite - by far the best house warming gifts ever. just so you all know this is what they brought: a big bottle of kettle one, a bottle of single malt scotch TALISKER, sour apple martini mix (not pucker, some good shit), a glass rimmer for margaritas, 4 colored mini shakers and 2 cocktail towels! MY GOD MAN! HATS OFF TO YOU! thank you again. aka55 is also a fierce ping pong competitor.
autumn - for being totally chill and fun and letting me roll around taking pictures of her.
freyja - that awesome laugh! i hear it in my dreams.
so sunday i was a shell of a man. hung over, dirty house, empty soul. i spent the day stoned and sleeping and cleaning. just what the doctor ordered.
monday - easy day of equipment returns for a kmart commercial.
tuesday - did a six flags commercial at six flags great adventure in new jersey with mr. six
it was fun except for the PMS'ing weather. it would shit rain, then stop, drizzle some more, then sunny. i had to kept setting up tents but it kept the day moving. the new tool album kept me company. it wound up being a 17 and a half hour day of work. but i got paid for it which made it worth it.
weds. - my brother and his family showed up at 2:30am. we slept till about 8. had breakfast at a diner by me, went to a playground (i have a 2 and half year old nephew), then we headed into the city to go to the intrepid. if you don't know what that is, its a huge battle ship on the west side.
after that we went back to my apt. had some pizza and watched tv. it was nice to spend some time with them.
thurs. and fri. - a mix of stuff i had to do. bills, mail, running, etc.
i had a friend show up on friday from CT. we walked around for a while, i bought a tart pan, went to my roommates job and then had dinner at the film center cafe on ninth ave.
so that is a brief recap. i will try to make my journal entries more frequent that way i don't have these huge ones. hope i didn't bore anyone. oh by the way....
