So, about a month ago I cut off over a foot of my hair. Mind you "OVER A FOOT." I was just tired of dealing with it and wanted a change.
Anyway, my problem comes with people who can't figure out "What is different about you?".
"Wow! I like your hair long like that!" (my response - No, This is the shortest I have had my hair in 5-6 years.)
"Did you lose weight?" (ummm.. technically, I guess. Did you think I was heavy before?)
"Is that a new beard?" (No.)
When I walked in, the first day, one of my bosses had no idea who I was for over an hour. (Hey, yeah it is me! the one who isn't technically "your" employee, but who you keep giving work to...)
"Is that a new jacket?" (Again, no.)
I have known these people for over a year and a half, at work. At first, I thought it was just Pseudome's self-absorbed roomate, but now...
I have this feeling that I leave no impression whatsoever on these people. In a job where you already feel overworked, and therefore, unappreciated... and being in an artistic job where you don't get artistic satisfaction for yourself... it doesn't help that you feel you don't have an identity in other people's minds... (Does my work and art leave no impression either?)

oh, so is this why the work thing is going down the wrong direction lately? hmmm... just don't bow down to the restaurant gig.
and she's not self-absorbed... she's outwardly challenged.
