An old picture of me. Because it is the only one I have resized for SG and I cannot stand looking at that damn picture anymore.

It was a show poster from work (with my boss in it, blech!). Not that I like keeping pictures of my boss everywhere, but it was a really cool image.... we sold more tickets for that show than we...

Nothing new really, just realized I haven't updated in a while....

Had a great weekend. Went to a fundraiser for a local theatre company on Val-day. They released a new comic book there as well. For the next three seasons they are going to produce a show (as one of their slots) that is part of a trilogy they are writing. The comic book is...

So, about a month ago I cut off over a foot of my hair. Mind you "OVER A FOOT." I was just tired of dealing with it and wanted a change.

Anyway, my problem comes with people who can't figure out "What is different about you?".

"Wow! I like your hair long like that!" (my response - No, This is the shortest I have had...

Is it possible to create a social life just by showing up random places?

I keep seeing the same few people everywhere I go.

Kind of nice...

But still, me = bok . Won't ask girl out on date.

Back in the City, back from the death that is the flu, back from SGCHI bowling.

Back at work.... endlessly.

Thinking about how public protest is often fruitless.... Always seems to be ignored or spun in a way that draws away from its message. Look at those dirty punks, they can't know anything. Or here in Chi with the hundreds of police who come to...

what about ghetto pac? you can't dissassociate yourself from negativity (i just read that part, i'm sorry i couldn't focus enough to read the whole thing, so i appologize if i'm taking this out of context) i mean, you can respond in a way that is peaceful yet effective, which i guess would be positive..but you're still reacting to negativite aspects of society or whatever it is you are responding to. i think it's hard to control the way you are perceived unless you are entirely clear and your audience, entirely attentive. as far as art, i'd like to say that is my best outlet. on the other hand, art is open to different types of interpretation, and most times, a viewer will associate it with something pertaining to their life, or values, etc. not necessarily what you are meaning to portray.

*I've done a chicago member search and am leaving this message in everyone's journal who's from the area...

You're invited to join SGchicago- a seperate group discussion for SG members in your neck of the woods. Perhaps this will one day lead to some SG representation from the midwest to battle it out w/ the coasts. smile

If you're interested in joining, just click on the groups button up top and submit your name. Simple as that. wink

So much better day! I read a bit (bad play, but mildly entertaining), wrote a bit, ate a bit.

Went to the "office" party, as opposed to the earlier "company" party. Actually got a holiday bonus! What the hell??? This is the first one I have ever received.

Q: What to do with $100? I live quite simply and rarely buy things (except this SG...

Thanks for the congrats man! Been working hard to get here. And congrats yourself on the X-Mas bonus.

A: Buy weed?

A2: Be very content and not complain. I spend as much time with friends as possible, something that I often don't get to do because of how busy I am.

I don't think you're setting yourself up for a fall. I think we lead much happier lives when we're working toward something good and maybe better. You can't live thinking that some day a tragedy will befall you. Some day it WILL come and there's no sense in spending time waiting for it.

Oh so tired....
Got hit by a car today on my bike... Worked four hours on my day off...

ouch, sounds like a bad day. Sorry to hear. Cars want to obliterate bikes. that is their unfortunate nature. I hope you feel better.

Saw a decent Hamlet today. Hamlet sucked, but the rest were okay.

Made bread. Like the kind you eat. I can't believe how well it turned out. Took a fresh loaf to a party and had lots of fun... Not the crush girl.

Thinking about the power of simplicity in staging and how it gets all messed up when the actors are trying to do...

Out damn spot!

Oh, sorry, wrong play.

Sporkboy.. I like that. Did you know the Japanese have a much greater affinity for sporks than us Americans?

As for art vs. knowledge, you hit the nail on the head. Surprisingly few people did. How disappointing.

So if you're palendramatic, do you shout "LEVEL!" and the like, loudly, with melancholy? What???
obelisk:
Hi there.

So, where was the production of Hamlet? I'm curious as I go to see a lot of theatre in Chicago.

So today was such a waste...
I got out of bed at 3:00, went wandering downtown.
Bought a breadmaker that I have wanted for months. Bought some books for researcgh
Came home. Read a bit. (15 min, ughh...)
Went back out wandering. That is it.

But fortunately, there was no call from Nutcracker girl! Boo-yaa! No date for me!!

Why is that so ironic?
(Well,...

Why do holiday office parties always go fucking nuts?

Who invited her? Why did she ask me out? Why did I say yes? I hate the fucking Nutcracker. I spent too many years dancing as Drosselmeier around stinky screaming brats to ever enjoy that show.

That, and I have absolutely no interest in this girl... She lost my trust a while ago...when she never called...

Now, time to hack all the brainstumbles out of it and shine up the dull.
