So, in an effort to make myself a bit more valuable in my career field, I bought a MacBook Pro last week. I've had little experience in the Mac world and decided that, with their market share (and stock) so rapidly increasing, it would be in my best interests to learn. After all, I work at a monstrous university - and most of the students are using Macs here. Anyway, I've had a fuckin' BLAST with this thing and have decided that I'm going to keep it indefinitely. Thanks to Posh for using them in her sets (yeah, I know it's a ridiculous thing to say but hey - if SHE can be *that* incredibly sexy with one next to her - that's some smart product placement. I wonder if Steve Jobs would be interested in paying her Marketing/Ad fees?)
Christmas was really nice this year. It actually felt like Christmas - which I haven't felt for the past few years. I have been completely and fully accepted by my soon-to-be-in-laws which was really nice to see. I was expected to take part in their family celebrations and was even asked to stay overnight so that I'd be able to open presents with the rest of the family. Honestly, I didn't expect to be THAT well received. In fact, I think I got a little "misty" eyed about it once. I could care less about the presents - to me it's special time to spend with family... Put aside your bullshit issues with each other and remember that you're *family*. I did, however, get some really awesome gifts this year. ThinkGeek has a Screaming Monkey Slingshot thing - it's quite awesome, I must say. My Mom found a hand-painted Hawaiian shirt that I can wear when we go back to Hawaii this year. Good stuff, good times.
That's all for now - have a safe New Year everyone.
