I had an experience that actually gave me hope in the future of our society tonight.
I was at my favorite teriyaki place this evening, waiting for my oh so delicious dinner to be cooked, when I noticed two thug-g-gansta's sitting at one of the tables by the door. These guys were maybe 15-16ish and gave off the vibe of serious attitude and "I'm a badass". Which, at that age I think we ALL had that vibe.
Anyway, these two had two giant take out boxes and three separate smaller styrofoam boxes EACH and their table was a full-on mess. One of them gets up and says "a'ight, I'm outty" and proceeds to walk out the door. The other guy sat there for a sec and then crammed the last of the food in his face. I was getting ready to help out the owners of the restaurant by cleaning up these inconsiderate prick's table, when low and behold, the other guy not only picks up all of the boxes and styrofoam, but also goes and asks for a damp towel to wipe off the table! Needless to say, I was SO happily caught off guard that I started laughing to myself.
Right now, that guy's Momma ought to be proud of her son for being polite and courteous and taking her lessons to heart.
I walked out the door to my truck feeling a large sense of hope for all of us as a whole.
