Matt - you're right. It's been too long without an update.
This has been such a surreal week for me. I had a checkup at the doctor's on Wednesday. While I was there, I thought I'd stop in and say "hi" to an old friend of about 20 years. I went into the office part of the hospital and asked the receptionist where I could find her. She looked about as sheepish as could be and with the quietest and careful toned voice, she replies with: "I'm sorry Sir, but Heather passed back in January." I was so dumbfounded with that information that I had to go sit in my car for about 15 minutes, trying to reason it out. So the rest of that day was spent on the phone, calling her Mother and Sister and then a few of our mutual friends that I KNEW didn't know about this.. <sigh> It's true, God I was hoping someone was mistaken, but it's true and confirmed.
I have been getting my sleeve worked on as much as humanly possible, but my artist is in such high-demand that I'm usually lucky to get one block of 5 hour time with him per month! Irk! Then again, I'm appreciating the sessions a bit more because of it. I'll take a few pics, once the flaking is done, and post them in my journal. The more that gets done, the more excited I get about it. Jesse is really going the distance on this and it shows a LOT.
I kind of geeked out these past couple of weeks. First, two weeks ago I got on Craigslist and found a Sony PSP to buy for my portable gaming needs. If I had only listened to Eric sooner - this thing is awesome! Then last weekend, I bought an Xbox 360 - again from Craigslist! So in the past two weeks, I've been really getting my "game" on and it's been nice to slide back into that role. (btw, the 360 has far better graphics that I could have hoped for! If you've been thinking about buying one, but aren't sure about what you'll get, head down to Best Buy and play their display. You'll be sold.)
That's it for now.
