Ok, everything is hunky-dory now. Sad time has passed and I am in good spirits. Long story short, someone I thought was going to be a life-long friend turned out to be someone with far too many unreasonable requirements of me and way too dramalicious for sane living. My life is far too important to me to put up with that. <sigh> I'm going to miss them something fierce though.
So, what's new in my life? I'm buying a new vehicle. Going to trade-in the GTI and buy a Tahoe. (I know what you're thinking: "But it's a gas guzzler!" - but realistically, they get 25 mpg and since I get a free bus pass at work, I drive probably 250 miles a MONTH now.. ) So, soon I'll be able to give people rides to events without having people squishing themselves into the back of my dinky car.
Harley rides will still always be there - for the ladies.
