You know, (well you don't yet, but I'm gonna tell you) I'm the happy-go-lucky kind of guy, the guy you come to when the world turns grey and you need somebody to pick you up, the guy that makes sure you got some coffee left when you come in the office in the morning and pours you a cup with a smile and makes you think that this day won't be so bad after all. Well actually, that's who I used to be...
There's not a day now that I don't come in at work and think: "Boy, I can't wait to get outta here!" And what do I come home to? An empty house, since my roomates are working the night shift. Which is not so bad in a way, since I went out with one not too long ago and can stand the sight of her for the moment.
But back to work... I brought myself to a painful realisation recently: I hate confrontation. And I don't mean I just dislike it, I really have a problem with it, my mind just goes to that happy place and I think of something else. Then I snap out, I get overwhelmed by all my responsabilities and I go back again. It really sucks... and I feel like I can't help it. The worse is that being a supervisor, confrontation is pretty much in my job description. Try convincing an employee with a speech like that:
"Maybe you could, I don't know... try to work faster. Don't you think?"
Wow... Now that's something. :?
