I've been gone for some time. New York has a funny way of taking all of your free time, and convincing you that you're not doing enough. Just closed three shows. You can catch me at LaMaMa on Saturday Afternoon April 26th at 3:00pm in a reading of a new play called Carlisle, or at the Dusty Screenwriters Night at the Visual Arts Theater(formerly Chelsea...

It was a great opening. It kinda led to 70 plus hours of silliness. I have nothing booked out that way right now but would be delighted if you had any leads
kenyon:
i DID keep up with that methody-sasha-as-borat stays in character and cavorts with house until crazy confrontation with gentleman x. ensues scenario. fun stuff.

meanwhile, "Me eyes are one thing. She owns my balls. This keeps a man steadfast."

fair enough. and quite cleanly put. i'm on your side.

i'm totally writing you during the _house_ season finale, btw. just thought you should know.

i'm boring, dude. i just run from my thoughts from one pleasure to the next, grasping. not to go all un-buddhist on you. it's just been over the top pleasure-mongering lately. a weird occupation.

speaking of: tranquilizers are kicking in & i'm nodding off, a bit. 'night, for now. x.

When somebody dies they say the spirit leaves out of the top of the head. Right when my Grandma passed her cat checkers jumped up on the bed near the top of her head and started looking around furtivley like she could see something. Grandma's name was Betty. Soon I will post a picture of her shooting guns in the fifties.
kenyon:
dead man? no wonder your mono lasted so long.

congratulations on your engagement, yo. come hang out, we can be two married couples. no board games though - only orgies.

good that you helped your grandmother jump the fence. i'm sure it helped immensely. and i hope you're doing ok with it m'dear.

my grandma (the one i lived with) is now in congestive heart failure. i don't think she'll stay on oxygen (too stubborn), which will probably shorten her life. i'll miss her. i didn't think i would, but i can feel it now. hope her catholic heaven is all she's cracked it up to be . . . jaysus.

come visit, boy.

all updates duly noted, btw. all good, you.

Stevie Wonder makes me happy even when he's sad. I sleep on an air matress. It's holes are sealed with bike tire patches. Yet I also wear thousand dollar suits to work. My life is in controversy.

P.S. I taught at Dartmouth once, but just now I had to look up controversy on Dictionary.com...it never stops.

Yet again I've been gone...

This time it's not work. My new job as a concierge is wicked easy. It's not social life, anyone can post drunk. It's because I'm madly in love. I've been spending as much time as I can with her.

P.S. I'll just get it all out of the way now. She's a school teacher, she's blonde, she's used to be...

Hello!

I know I've fallen off the interweb map, but it's only because I've been busy trying to get a career and life started here in NYC, and before that I was crazy on the road. One of these days I'll be back to having free time, in the meantime here are the first round draft picks of my headshots. These have all gone off...

i can't believe you tease me with ancient native american indian (are you down with indian??) nasal clearing techniques that sound like porno techniques as well. i guess those are the breaks.

i feel brittle tonight. like i'm forgetting something and i'm all tensed against the negative space of what should be there. it's an eerie feeling.

i think it's b/c i learned my housegirl is a sexworker and it makes me all nostalgic and simultaneously mildly uncomfortable. i was just googling her. googling people rarely leads to good feelings, eh?

ok, i'm gonna change my head now. shake it off. etc.

hope you're well my friend.
kenyon:
thanks for the heads-up re: in-di-an. and yes, i totally missed the window last night. what can ya do. kiss

Not a poem....but a great first page to a story.....

Silver Water
By Amy Bloom

My sister's voice was like mountain water in a silver pitcher; the clear blue beauty of it cools you and lifts you up beyond your heat, beyond your body. After we went to see La Traviata, when she was fourteen and I was twelve, she elbowed me in the parking lot...

hey smartie,

you know i love that you're thinking about me from stage almost as much as you love that you're up there. wink my/our friend is still not breathing on his own, and was less responsive today than he'd previously been. boi and i, exhausted, finally flopped down in a park near our house to engage in some prayer of a non-denomenational variety. it felt good.

there were points in my illness where people were praying for me, or mentioning that they were praying to st. jude (aka patron saint of lost causes) and i was like, "you do that. but don't tell me about it. it makes me feel like i'm already dead." but i wanted them to be thinking about me - i didn't want to be forgotten. no matter what happens, this friend will not be tucked away and forgotten about.

smile
francesca:
That is the best awkward moment yet! Thanks for the story. It made me smile and I really needed it today. smile
