Notes from Day 11
Nothing really to say, today. I miss a lot of foods, but I expect to continue to eat like this even after Day 30. Of course, we'll have to check back and see how I feel in another 20 days. But honestly, the way I was eating before wasn't much about food as much as...I don't know. Trying to kill myself with food? Eating Whole30 is a major pain in the ass, but ti's also how I remember eating as a kid, with an emphasis on meat and veg. Pasta was a treat, rather than a staple. Maybe it's because my folks were poor starting out. I ate a lot of peanut butter and govt cheese when I was really little. By the time I reached my teens, my folks were doing well enough to afford meat and fresh vegetables every night for dinner. It's funny (in a not funny sort of way) that by the time I got to be their age now, my personal style of eating is the antithesis of how they tried to raise me: heavily carb- and sugar-based foods. I can't promise myself I'm not going to eat carbs again after this Whole30 ends, but I'm much more interested in cooking foods beyond casseroles, chili, and soup.
