So, I went out for a drink with an acquaintance last night and ended chatting for four hours. We connected really well and she’s really quite, but we have an insurmountable incompatibility: she’s an Evangelical Christian and I’m…really not. But that’s not what I want to talk about today.
Today, I have been having wistful thoughts about things that I miss by not being in a relationship. And rather than spam my facebook friends, I thought I would put those moments here so people can read them or not, as they choose.
* That moment when you’re sitting and the person you’re dating is standing in front of you and you reach out and slip a couple of fingers into the front pocket of their jeans.
* Cradling the small of someone else’s back.
* Playing with/braiding/untangling their hair.
* Catching their eye across a crowded room and quietly sharing a moment.
* The smell of their skin and the joy of catching a whiff of their scent on you in the middle of the day.
* Preparing a meal together.
That’s all for now, I guess. I’m sure there will be more.
